Making a Knife from Scrap

Down in Georgia abandoned scraped metal is being transformed into usable exclusive chefs knives.

The men behind these knives is David Van Wyk and Luke Snyder. Their company is called Bloodroot Blades and they create beautiful, customs blade in their local shop in Arnoldsville, Georgia. The process starts in junkyards and scrap yards. Along with the unique metal chosen for each knife is the wood. The wood for the custom made handle can come from a number of sources. The reclaimed metals must be reforged, then refined and put through a number of stages. The final result is a truly one of a kind, unique knife that is strong, durable and sharp.
