Metal 3D Printing Technology is Achieving New Heights
Here at United Iron & Metal we love introducing you to new and surprising metal technologies. 3D printing technology is improving very fast. What exactly is 3D printing? 3D printing is defined as: “a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many successive thin layers of a material.”
The technology is now being used to create a metal bridge in Amsterdam. This October a Dutch team of researcher and development company called MX3D is “printing” the world’s first 3D printed metal bridge.
“The team and designer Joris Laarman, who is spearheading the project, have created an additive manufacturing method called MX3D Resin which is able to form 3D objects on any surface, independently of its inclination and smoothness, without any additional support structures.” – via http://www.forconstructionpros.com/news/12128603/dutch-company-planning-to-3d-print-functional-steel-bridge
As far as 3D Metal Printing technology is concerned- the future is here!
